The characters on The Walking Dead are about to undergo some changes this season, including Carol who will have to adjust to her new life after facing a number of traumatic incidents.

Michonne Will Have 'A Lot Of Ferocity' On 'The Walking Dead'

On Wednesday, Entertainment Weekly posted an interview with Melissa McBride (Carol) who mentioned that her character is actually holding up pretty well after being abandoned by Rick as well as having to kill Lizzie. She also talked about how enticing it is to see everyone change.

"The characters are adapting to that kind of world where you just can't get a break," McBride said. "It's interesting to see how they're becoming someone new almost under the weight of this world. I don't know how anyone could get through what she's done and not be affected by it. It's going to be great to see exactly how she is affected by it."

'The Walking Dead' Will Bring Something 'Slightly Familiar'

The upcoming season will bring out some questions for the characters, something that the actress is a fan of.

"Will [Carol] want to check out and go, 'Oh this is too much for me,' or will love conquer all and caring for her group and continuing in this world to fight?" McBride said. "I love the questions that this show brings. We fight so hard, holding out for something. What? What are they holding out for? Why? It's so brutal. I love it."

The Walking Dead Season 5 is set to premiere on Sunday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
