Big Brother has been renewed for Seasons 17 and 18, according to a new CBS press release. The new seasons will expectedly air in Summer 2015 and Summer 2016, respectively.

"Big Brother continues to be the one of the summer's most dominant programs, and with each season, Allison [Grodner] and Rich [Meehan] produce the most twisted ways to evolve the series creatively," said Chris Castallo, CBS Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming. "With its one-of-a-kind format, coupled with its passionate, socially engaged fan base, no other show comes close to duplicating it."

CBS also renewed Big Brother After Dark, a live one-hour look inside the house that airs every night on TVGN. The program will air next summer on POP, which is the soon-to-be rebranded TVGN.

Big Brother concluded its 16th season live on Wednesday night. While the results played out somewhat predictably for most fans, it resulted in one of the most dominant games in Big Brother history. Derrick Levasseur won the $500,000 grand prize Wednesday night, having received seven jury votes to win. He beat his longtime ally Cody Calafiore, who received only two votes.

Earlier in the evening, Cody won the final Head of Household competition and chose to honor his alliance with Derrick and take him to the Final 2 rather than taking the easier opponent to beat, Victoria Rafaeli.

At the end of the night, 42-year-old groundskeeper Donny Thompson won the America's Favorite Houseguest vote, giving him $25,000.
