With Jeremy Renner hinting at a larger role for Hawkeye in the next Captain America, could the character find some love with someone else in the Marvel universe and what kind of work could the archer see in the movie?

Another Avenger Could Pop Up In 'Captain America 3' To Help The Team

It seems like Renner is teasing his involvement in the next Captain America after he had to be cut from Winter Soldier because of scheduling conflicts, and if the character follows the comics, he could be headed for a wedding (after the actor was secretly married himself recently).

In the comics, Hawkeye meets the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Barbara "Bobbi" Morse, also known as the hero Mockingbird. Together, they discover that Crossfire, cousin of the company's original owner, was hatching a plot to destroy the superhero community via an aggression-inducing sonic weapon.

Does 'Captain America 3' Have A Tie To Ultron In 'Avengers 2?'

Hawkeye and Mockingbird manage to defeat him (although Hawkeye is rendered deaf when he uses a sonic arrow to counter Crossfire's weapon) and the two heroes get married shortly afterwards.

While it doesn't seem likely that Hawkeye would go deaf, there could be a tie-in between the television show and the next Captain America movie in the form of Mockingbird, who was just revealed in a recent episode and played by Adrianne Palicki.

It seems, much like the comics, that there is this hidden romance between Hawkeye and Black Widow, but the character has seemed to be resistant of the idea and could leave Hawkeye out. It would seem like left field idea, but Hawkeye could meet Mockingbird and it would allow Marvel to link their television and movies much like they did with Winter Soldier.

Captain America 3 is set to open on May 6, 2016.
