Former Young and the Restless star Michael Muhney seems excited for his new project.

The 39-year-old actor is set to star in a new movie titled Search Engines and he teased fans about the role.

"Straight? Gay? Labels. Pushing the limits filming my role in the new movie 'Search Engines.' Such a well-written/directed film. #inspired," he tweeted on Thursday.

Search Engines isn't Muhney's only upcoming film - fans can also catch him in a holiday film this winter. He will star in Back to Christmas, an ION Television film premiering on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 9 p.m. The television movie also stars former True Blood actress Kelly Overton, whom Muhney praised on Twitter in August.

"Wrapped on the movie! Lots of fun opposite @iamkellyoverton ! Wonderful gal! Now...what should my next project be?" he tweeted.

Prior to that tweet, he also showed love to his other co-star, Gloria Loring. "Gonna miss @glorialoring when this TV movie wraps. She's been a fun mother in law. And she gave me her Christmas CD!" he tweeted along with a photo of the actress smiling.

Muhney doesn't seem deterred since he revealed in August that he would not return to the CBS soap opera as Adam Newman. He played the character since 2009 before he made his last appearance last December.

"Just got an official call, although things got very close, I will not be returning to Y&R. That part of my life is over. Moving on..." he wrote on Twitter. "I was hopeful for a return, but now I'm hopeful for the future. Now you'll just have to promise to tune in to my future projects! #lovexo."
