Craig Robinson, who delighted fans as the Pontiac Bandit on the show has officially booked his return for season 2 of the show, marking his return in the Christmas episode scheduled to air in early to mid-December.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) will reluctantly join forces with the criminal he's been unsuccessfully pursuing for years, in an effort to take down a drug kingpin.

No Peraltiago Romance In Season 2?

"The Pontiac Bandit once again comes into Jake's life, and once again is his best criminal friend and his greatest nemesis," Executive Producer Dan Goor told the magazine. "He must work intimately with the Pontiac Bandit-the two of them will eat Lobster Thermidor while wearing bathrobes."

The last time fans saw Robinson's character, he was brought into custody by Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz), but Jake convinced her to let him go when he claimed to be able to help them track down the car thief Jake had been after for eight years. After working alongside them and promising to turn the bandit in (which also involved dressing Jake up in an old-school white tuxedo), he revealed he had tricked them and was the true Pontiac Bandit-and fled.

Robinson joins another long list of impressive guest stars for the show's sophomore season, including Jenny Slate, Kyra Sedgwick, Eva Longoria, Patton Oswalt and Terrell Owens.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine season 2 premieres Sunday, September 28 at 8:30 p.m. on FOX.
