Blake Shelton loves country music, but as his new album Bringing Back the Sunshine approaches its release, the musician opened up about what he's been listening to lately.

In a recent interview with People, Shelton noted that he has a lot of different songs on his phone.

"Meghan Trainor's 'All About That Bass.' That's a fun one…" Shelton declared before singing a few bars. "I literally can't relate to it lyrically, but it's just crazy fun."

In spite of his prankster reputation on NBC's The Voice, Shelton noted that he doesn't just go for "fun" music. He also has a serious side.

"Vince Gill's 'Go Rest High on That Mountain.' If I'm thinking about something sad and I heard that song, forget about it!" he said. "It's over. I mean, I got to go hide somewhere [to cry]."

Of course, Shelton also keeps a few songs on hand that remind him of wife and fellow country artist Miranda Lambert, who's been out on tour this summer promoting her new album Platinum. While the two haven't seen much of each other lately, Shelton always has some music on-hand to remind him of his darling wife.

You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma by David Frizzle and Shelly West is the song the musician most closely associates with Lambert, admitting there's a special reason for its significance.

"The song is basically how Miranda and I met," explained Shelton. "We sang it at a CMT duets concert, and every time I heard it, it's like I instantly go back there."

Shelton and Lambert are scheduled to reunite for the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas next month, but for now the pair are busy promoting their latest work.

Bringing Back the Sunshine is set to hit stores Sept. 30.
