Fans who are impatient waiting for Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) to get married on ABC's Castle will have to wait a little longer after Season 7 debuts Monday night.

Rick & Beckett Will 'Blossom And Grow' Amid 'Disappointment' Over Failed Wedding on Castle

New Castle show runner David Amann spoke to TVGuide.com about the wedding, which was postponed in the Season 6 finale after Castle got into a fiery car wreck. Fans should not expect a wedding to come any time soon, though it is still possible to come by the end of the season.

"I don't think anybody could be expected to just pick up where they left off," Amann noted. "Having said that, the Beckett-Castle relationship has faced a lot of challenges, and this is one that they will overcome."

Asked if this means that the wedding will take place at any point this season, Amann simply teased, "I think that it is very possible."

Amann confirmed that fans will have some idea of what went down with Castle's car wreck by the end of the second episode, though the arc is not completely over.

"The effects of what has happened to Castle will re-emerge and reassert themselves later in the season," Amann noted. "In the early run, he comes away with enough answers that he doesn't have to chase down the rest of them right away. But that won't last and he will ultimately want to get to a more complete truth."

Castle Season 7 premieres Monday night at 10/9c on ABC.
