Actress and current Dancing With the Stars contestant Lea Thompson is set to perform a Back to the Future-inspired dance on Monday in homage to one of her most famous roles.

Thompson, who played Lorraine Baines in the Back to the Future trilogy, is slated to give a performance dedicated to the franchise in Monday night's episode of Dancing With the Stars. She and her partner Artem Chigvintsev will dance the Cha-Cha-Cha to Huey Lewis and The News' Power of Love, which was featured in the first film.

"[Artem] wants to be Marty McFly. And I'm like, 'I will not be dancing the cha cha with my son. It's not happening," Thompson revealed to TVGuide.com ahead of Monday night's episode. "'You have to be George McFly.' ... So, that's been a big bone of contention. He said, 'But you were in love with [your] son.' And I said, 'But my son wasn't in love with me, so ... ' (Laughs). So I've gotten him to be George McFly. And I wanted the song Power of Love from the movie, so that's what we're going to do."

Thompson has proven herself to be a worthy competitor and a possible frontrunner to win Dancing With the Stars this season. She tied for third overall in the premiere episode but she managed to nab the top score of the night during Week 2.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
