According to OK! on Sunday, the Grammy winning artist has been approached about a role in the next movie in the Bond franchise.

According to the magazine's unnamed source, "Rihanna is a big fan of the Bond films and has always loved the idea of appearing in one. She didn't even need to think about it, she knows she wants to do it. She's really excited."

The singer has so far appeared in three movies with a starring role in Battleship, a cameo in This is the End, and recent work in Home, an animated movie by Dreamworks. By joining the Bond franchise, it would give Rihanna her most high profile role to date and give her a large stage to display her acting skills.

Other names that have been linked to the Bond girl roles have been French actress Lea Seydoux, Penelope Cruz, model Cara Delevingne, and Downtown Abbey star Joanne Froggatt. Producers have said that the main Bond girl role will go to a British actress, so Rihanna may be looking at one of the side roles.

Sam Mendes is returning to direct Bond 24 with cast members Daniel Craig, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Rory Kinnear coming back as well.

Bond 24 is set to open in theaters on November 6, 2015.
