Michael Muhney opened about past rumors that he inappropriately touched a female co-star on set of The Young and the Restless.

Young and the Restless Fans Outraged By Michael Muhney Controversy

"First of all, there is no one anywhere, of any official capacity, who ever made any of those allegations. If there were, I would be the first person to come out and say, 'Hey, now, I've got to take you to court because what you've just said is lies and I have to sue you for libel and slander,'" the actor told TV Week Soap Extra.

Muhney, who played Adam Newman on the show since 2009, was reportedly fired from the series in December after he allegedly groped his co-star, Hunter King. He was also accused of bullying other cast members, including Eric Braeden.

Similar allegations about Muhney's behavior surfaced shortly after when it was reported that he was also fired from Veronica Mars in 2007. His character on the show, Sheriff Don Lamb, was killed off during the last season. However, Muhney believes someone simply wanted to taint his reputation.

The actor also revealed that there was tension with the Young and the Restless producers for a while before he left the show.

"I remember sitting down in the final ten months of my tenure with the executive producer and saying: 'Things have to change. You guys are going to have to fire me or I'm going to have to quit.' I told them that several times," he said.

Muhney officially confirmed his permanent exit from the CBS show via social media. "Just got an official call, although things got very close, I will not be returning to Y&R. That part of my life is over. Moving on..." he wrote on Twitter in August. "I was hopeful for a return, but now I'm hopeful for the future. Now you'll just have to promise to tune in to my future projects! #lovexo."
