A few months ago, Wiz Khalifa randomly pondered about Aaron Carter's whereabouts on Twitter.

Carter was taken aback by the rapper's tweet, which read "I wonder what Aaron Carter is doin right now," but was also thrilled - he told Enstars.com that Wiz would be his dream collaboration.

To answer the rapper's question, Carter is on a mission to reboot his music career. The 26-year-old kicked off an international tour on Sept. 18 and will continue to perform in more than 80 cities across the globe over the next few months. On Oct. 14, Carter is also expected to release his first single in over 10 years. The song, titled Ooh Wee, features up-and-coming hip-hop artist Pat Solo and will be produced by Grammy Award winner Aaron Pearce.

"I went through some stuff and gone through funky phases in my life," Carter said. "But now I'm getting it all back. I'm getting my feet back on the ground and keeping them planted."

Carter hasn't concealed his past struggle with prescription pills nor the fact that he filed for bankruptcy last year. But, the pop star, who started his career at the age of seven and has three platinum records under his belt, said he's putting all that behind him. He voluntarily entered California's Betty Ford Center in 2011 and cleared up his financial troubles in February after his tax debt was excused.

"It stemmed from stuff that happened when I was 12 and 13 years old and it was really holding me back ... I've been dealing with it my whole adult life," Carter said of the debt. "It did weigh on me but it taught me to be strong and grow."

The younger brother of Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter gives credit to his current team for steering him on the right path and said he's learned to "shut up" when he should.

And as he hopes to get signed to a major record label, Carter said he feels blessed for this new opportunity to revive his career and looks forward to hanging out with his fans and "cute girls" on tour.
