It's crunch time for Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice as prosecutors request the federal judge to give them their maximum ail time less than 48 hours before their highly anticipated sentencing.

Teresa Giudice Hoping For House Arrest But Allegedly Can't Find New Home

An insider to the ordeal told Radar Online Tuesday, "It's all outlined in their sentencing documents filed with the court.

"Joe has been resigned to the fact that he will most likely be going to prison, but no one was ready or the possibility of Teresa going also."

If the prosecutors get their way, Teresa will serve 27 months and Joe 47 months. It is also possible that Joe will be deported back to Italy after his sentence is over.

"Naturally, Joe and Teresa are absolutely devastated and had hoped proctors would have agreed to probation, or even house arrest. No one forced the Giudices to take the plea deal, and they accepted responsibility for their actions. Putting them behind bars doesn't do anything but hurt their four daughters."

In the end, Federal District Judge Esther Salas will decide the fate of the Giudices.

While prosecutors want them to serve their maximum sentence, Teresa and Joe's legal team are anticipating the opposite.

They're set to "ask for leniency from the judge, and hope to be given probation and/or house arrest."

The Bravo stars are currently writing their final statements for the court in hopes of showing the judge that they are apologetic for their mistakes. They pleaded guilty to several fraud charges including bankruptcy and mortgage.

They will be sentenced Thursday in Newark, N.J.
