New York Comic Con is right around the corner and The Hobbit fans should gear up for some excitement as there will be a ton of action surrounding The Battle of the Five Armies at the event.

Peter Jackson To "Bring A Little Bit Extra To The Mythology" In Battle of the Five Armies

The One Ring, the one stop destination for all to do with the Peter Jackson movies based on Tolkien's opus, has set up a special panel, which will give fans a special inside look at the film. The crew will also be hosting a Weta: Creating Conceptual Art for Film workshop. There will be a host of other exciting events lined up, the details can be found here.

Which Dwarves Will Die In The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies? 

Other recent movie related promotions helmed by The One Ring involve launching a contest giving fans the opportunity to win an Art & Design book based on The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, by the team behind the visual effects of the movie 

The website has teamed up with Harper Collins Publishers for the competition, and the deadline for submissions is set for October 31. The books will be parceled to the winners at the same time of its release i.e. December 17.

Speaking of collectibles, MTV news recently reported that Funko's has come out with an exciting new line of toys featuring the characters like Sauron, the dragon Smaug, and Tauriel. Smaug looks rather cute in this plastic toy iteration. Smaug stands at 6" and Tauriel is 3.75" tall. The series can be found on the official Funko website.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will hit theaters on December 18.
