With the next Avengers movie set to come out next year, it is a good time to reflect and see where the rest of Marvel is headed after the Phase 2 movies come to a close. But how many more movies will we have with Chris Hemsworth playing Thor? It seems like the actor has an idea.
Speaking on The Morning Show on Wednesday, Hemsworth talked about finishing up work on Avengers: Age of Ultron and what he expects for the future of the character.
"It's three times I've played the character now; [which] has made me look at it in a different way," Hemsworth said. "We just shot the Avengers [sequel] and finished a couple months ago. It's exciting if not more than the first one was to see all those characters come back together."
He also talked about his contract with Marvel and what he hopes to do with the remaining amount of work with the studio.
"I still got three more [movies] in my contract that I need to finish off, but I love playing the character," he said. "So, I'm not in any hurry to finish doing that. It's nice to be able to fit different things in between [playing Thor]."
This is good news because it means that Hemsworth will get one more standalone movie and will be set for the next Avengers film. It also begs the questions: does the third movie mean that he will have another standalone, a team-up (possibly with the Guardians of the Galaxy), or will the rumor that Avengers 3 is split become true?
Either way, more Thor is on the way and the actor is happy in the role.
