Peter Bergman, who has played Jack Abbott on The Young and the Restless since 1989, opened up about the drama surrounding his character.

The 61-year-old spoke with Virginia's NewsChannel 3 and revealed his hopes for the often dramatic Abbott family.

"I'd love for the Abbott family to all be back together again and I feel like I'm close," he said.

He also dished on Jack's biggest problem - the return of his wife Phyllis, who had been in a coma for a year.

"Phyllis is out of the comma, we are all dealing with it," he said. "It's quite an entrance Phyllis makes."

However, Bergman added that Jack is "genuinely torn" because of his relationship with Kelly. The two became romantically invovled while Phyllis was in the coma. "Jack and Phyllis - hard to tell where that's going," he added.

Of course, Jack and Phyllis' daughter, Summer, never approved of her father's new romance. He had once promised his daughter that no matter what he'd be with Phyllis if she ever woke up again.

Bergman also hinted that Jack won't find out that Summer isn't his biological daughter for a long time.

"I hope the truth comes out very, very slowly; has a twist to it. Whether Jack will ever found out about the twist, I just assume that happen a long time from now," Bergman said.
