A new still featuring Dragon Smaug flying over Lake Town, which is up in flames, was recently revealed via The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies's official Facebook account.

The image is pretty powerful as the ravaged town is burning up and the massive wings, and tail of the Dragon Smaug are seen trailing off in the sky, suveying the destruction he has spawned.

In The Battle of the Five Armies, after having reclaimed their homeland from the dragon, the Hobbits will face the wrath of the beast, whose fiery rage will wreak devastation in Lake Town.

But this will be where the film starts off and not its main focus, as the Hobbits have a bigger, more epic battle to fight.

Recently, director Peter Jackson revealed that The Battle of the Five Armies will be something of a "pdychological thriller."

A report sourced some of the highlights from the Empire Magazine's September cover story on The Battle of the Five Armies and Jackson's definition of the movie will definitely get fans excited.

"I think of this third movie as a psychological thriller with actions scenes interspersed in the middle of it," he said. "It has for a very tight narrative structure."

The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies will hit theaters on Dec. 18.
