Fans are eager to spend as much time as possible with Star Lord, Gamora, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, and Drax the Destroyer when the Blu-ray/DVD is released later this year, but it seems that won't be the only team featured on the disc.

Will 'Avengers 3' Be Split To Bring In The Guardians of the Galaxy?

With the announcement by Marvel that the Blu-ray/DVD for Guardians of the Galaxy would be released on December 9, the studio also added that they will include exclusive footage from their upcoming feature, Avengers: Age of Ultron, on the disc as well.

By the time of the release a first trailer for the movie should be out, with an expected date being when Christopher Nolan's Interstellar comes out. But the footage in the Blu-ray probably won't be linked to that and could be the footage that was shown at Marvel's panel at Comic-Con during the summer.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' Star Praises James Gunn & Being 'Geeks For Story'

Kevin Feige had already said that those scenes would be shown to the public, but at a given time, so it would make sense that they release them on the Blu-ray for one of the studio's biggest hits yet.

Also on the Blu-ray are never-before-seen deleted scenes with some of the cast including Chris Pratt and Stan Lee, making-of featurettes, a gag reel and audio commentary.

The movie will also be available on digital platforms on November 18, but will not include the features that the Blu-ray disc has.

Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn with a sequel coming out in 2017.
