It seems like Marvel is wanting Chris Evans to stick around as long as possible and one way to do that is to keep him out of Avengers 3 and make him hang up the shield as Captain America in the third movie? Possibly.

Jeremy Renner Not Sure If He Will Be A Part Of 'Captain America 3'

With the recent report that the third Avengers movie could be without Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth as a way for Marvel to keep the actors around for future movies without re-structuring their contracts, this could lead to some big ramifications in the third Captain America movie.

While not much is known about the plot, it has been revealed that the movie will center on Captain America and a team made up of Falcon, Black Widow and Hawkeye trying to track down the Winter Soldier and eventually getting him to join their squad. But what will happen at the end and how will that lead into the third Avengers?

'Captain America 3' Directors Say Red Skull Comeback Could Happen Soon

Well, it doesn't seem like the death of Steve Rogers will be an option, but could it lead to some sort of mini-retirement? The movie could conclude with Steve giving up the shield and letting the Winter Soldier or Falcon take on the mantle for awhile as he tries to re-capture his past and wait until Marvel wants to bring Steve Rogers back.

It would allow Evans to keep the door open, but still let Marvel have options to do with Captain America since the Winter Solider or Falcon could be using the gear.

It seems like a smart move by the studio to keep one of their biggest actors around, but would allow them to keep the property alive with a different actor place holding for Evans.
