It's officially over for Paula Patton and Robin Thicke.

EXCLUSIVE: Robin Thicke Performs Blurred Lines At Express Opening in NYC

The Baggage Claim actress, 38, filed for divorce on Oct. 3 in Los Angeles over "irreconcilable differences," People reported on Wednesday. She also asked for joint custody of their 4-year-old son Julian Fuego.

The couple, who wed in 2005 after being together since teenagers, announced their separation in February.

Controversy Behind Robin Thicke's Hit Blurred Lines

"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," they said in a statement at the time.

The couple's relationship went sour shortly after Thicke's controversial performance with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2013. During the performance, Cyrus provocatively danced on Thicke as Patton watched from the audience.

Unlike Patton, Thicke was vocal about trying to mend the broken relationship. Days after their separation, the 37-year-old told a TMZ reporter, "I'm just trying to get her back." He also declared his love for her during a concert in Virginia that month.

"For those of you who don't know, my wife and I got separated a few days ago," an emotional Thicke told the crowd. "But you know - I want everybody here to know - that I'm trying to get my girl back."

Thicke even named his latest album, Paula, and it included the song Get Her Back. However, his seventh album tanked - it only sold around 25,000 copies in its first week in the U.S. and a mere 530 copies in the U.K.
