Carrie Underwood has faith and she has no intention of giving it up.

Carrie Underwood's Latest Single Sets Multiple Records

With the release of her latest single Something In The Water on Sept. 29, the country star has faced some backlash over the Christian-themed lyrics. According to Mad World News, Something in the Water leans more towards faith than some Underwood fans might like.

"It's really kind of a joyous, uplifting song about changing your life for the better and kind of having that 'a-ha' moment, to waking up and your life being different from that moment forward," the singer explained to Today on Sept. 26 when she announced her new album, Greatest Hits: Decade #1.

As far as Underwood is concerned, she's always had faith and doesn't plan on changing for fans who are less thrilled about her music's religious tone.

"I'm not the first person to sing about God, Jesus, or faith [or] any of that, and I won't be the last," declared Underwood in Taste Of Country back in 2012. "And it won't be the last for me either. If you don't like it, change the channel."

Something in The Water has proven itself to be a hit for Underwood. On Monday her team released a statement announcing that the single is officially Underwood's best-selling first-week single ever. It is also the year's highest debut single by a solo artist at # 17 on Billboard.

Something In The Water is the first single off Greatest Hits: Decade #1, which is set to be released Dec. 9, 2014.
