Blake Shelton hasn't taken too many interviews since the release of his new album Bringing Back the Sunshine, and there could be a reason for that.

FInd Out What Touring With Blake Shelton Is Like

Frustrated with the tabloids and being taken out of context, the country artist chose his words carefully when he recently appeared on Today with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb (featured below).

"You're so full of crap," laughed Shelton good-naturedly when Gifford called him a "dreamboat" at the start of the interview. "I love you."

Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert Schedule 2015 Tours In Spite Of Divorce Rumors

Introduced as a performer who's won Country Music's Male Vocalist of the Year four times, Shelton was amazed at his own success. Unable to recall his last ten albums and having mistakenly thought he only won male vocalist three times, the singer admitted that it's easy to lose track.

"Stuff goes by so fast," he insisted. "You know what I mean? Especially lately."

When they began discussing all the award shows that exist these days for country music, Shelton shook his head.

"I think there's too many award shows myself…" he admitted. "I mean, my gosh…"

Prepared to continue, Shelton took a pause and thought about it for a moment. "I should take that back, I wish there was more award shows," he added with a modest laugh. "I sound ungrateful when I say that, but there's a lot of them."

The country singer does have a history of speaking bluntly. On Oct. 3, the star lashed out at critics on Twitter after hearing the latest rumors about him and wife Miranda Lambert getting a divorce.

Bringing Back the Sunshine is Shelton's eleventh studio album and was released on Sept. 30.
