Agents of SHIELD's Phil Coulson is still battling with the effects of GH325, and the new Director doesn't want to become the next John Garrett.

If he does, however, Coulson (Clark Gregg) wants Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) to have a plan for dealing with a sudden onset of the crazies, a plan that could involve taking her boss down.

The only member of SHIELD 2.0 that knows of Coulson's aliment May will accompany him into the field to track down a painting with alien writing on it during "I Will Face My Enemy." While on the mission, Coulson will again bring up May's secret assignment (see video below).

"[May] was always under orders to keep an eye on me and deal with any side effects of the GH325 from Director Fury," Gregg explained, according to Marvel Entertainment. "Then when everything hit the fan in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and...Coulson ended up Director, then it's clear in the first episode that Coulson continued this order and it becomes a thing where he's clearly in the grips of some of the side effects that may or may not lead to what happened to Garrett, and [May's] the one who's supposed to watch him and [she] seems to have given him a bit of an order...that he has to stay away from field ops and to report to [May] when there's issues."

While the Director hasn't shied from fieldwork, he is keeping May apprised of his frequent need to write alien gibberish, and well as the toll it is taking on his body.

Find out if Coulson and May can find a cure for the GH325 when Agents of SHIELD airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
