Fans who were at the pre-show for Tim McGraw's Arkansas or Texas concerts back in August might remember when his daughter Audrey took the stage to perform Travelin' Soldier by The Dixie Chicks.

Tim McGraw Could Surprise Fans With Faith Hill at CMAs

With country superstar parents like Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, it's no wonder that the 12-year-old has quite the voice and a talent for the stage. According to her father, however, Audrey's interest in performing came as somewhat of a surprise.

"I thought she'd back out at the last minute and not do it," admitted McGraw in Taste of Country on Thursday. "We were flyin' in [to Rogers, Arkansas] that day, her and I were actually in my airplane flyin' over Arkansas to do this show, and she had asked if she could do it."

When McGraw told his daughter that she could perform at the pre-show, he knew she had a strong voice. He'd heard her sing before, but had no idea that she'd look so calm in front of a crowd.

"The funniest thing to me about it was, she got up there and she sang and she didn't show a bit of nerves," noted McGraw. "She just sang the song and then she didn't acknowledge the crowd or anything. She just sang her song, got up and walked off. Like, that's the way to do it. That's the way to handle it."

Married since 1996, McGraw and Hill have largely tried to keep their three daughters out of the spotlight and maintain a pretty normal home-life in Nashville, Tenn.

McGraw's latest album Sundown Heaven Town, which features the duet Meanwhile Back At Mama's with his wife, hit the stores back on Sept. 16.
