In the photo, the former NCIS actress appears in full costume sporting a blue headpiece and a dress. De Pablo is hugging a younger co-star, who is also in special garb.

The show’s official Instagram page previously shared a photo of the actress, Downey and cast member Rachel Brosnahan on set the first day of filming.

“Dovekeepers takes flight w/ #CoteDePablo,@romadowney & @rachiebros kicking off production today in Malta. #CBS 2015,” the caption reads.

The upcoming miniseries is based on Alice Hoffman's 2011 historical novel of the same name, which tells the true story of 900 Jewish people who the Romans forced to evacuate to Masada, an ancient fortification.

The show marks de Pablo’s first TV role since she famously left NCIS last year. She is set to star as Shirah, a "sensual, mysterious and fiercely independent single mother with uncanny insights and a quiet and mysterious power," according to CBS.

The Dovekeepers will premiere in 2015.
