We reckon it's most likely Doug Stamper's (Michael Kelly) funeral, which Underwood wasn't responsible for. But the jury's still out on Stamper's fate on the show, with no certaintly about his death. The filming for this scene seems to hint at the fact that Doug is going six feet under.

There has been speculation about the return of a few characters on the show like Doug, who was presumed dead in the finale of season 2, and Lucas Black, who has been put away in jail.

The Doug mystery is something a lot of fans are eagerly awaiting to see the outcome of in the next season. Kelly, who plays Doug on the show, hinted at the fact that he might be alive in next chapter. Russo has signed for a longer contract, so he was unsure of what that meant as he execs were meant to honor it and he was being kept in the dark about his storyline.

Show creator Beau Willimon has been tight-lipped and extremely cautious about giving away any information. So when asked about Black's return in a recent interview with Katie Couric, he suggested that there was only one way to find out.

The third season of House of Cards will film in Maryland, where the first and second seasons were also shot. Initially, the continuation of filming of the third season of the Netflix series was fraught with troubles over the past few weeks as the producers weren't getting permission from the State of Maryland. But the issue was finally resolved on April 25.
