Aishwarya Rai Bachchan officiated the Mumbai Film Festival launch on October 15 in Mumbai, India.

The 8 day festival will feature a great mix of films from both the international and local circuit, including upcoming Hollywood releases like Serena (Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence) and The Clouds of Sils Maria (Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart) and the critically acclaimed HBO documentary on the New York Review of Books, The 50 Year Argument. Although, Richard Linklater's Boyhood has already been released in the US it will be making its debut in India at the festival.

The opening ceremony for the event will also be attended by Bollywood stars like Deepika Padukone and Akshay Kumar. Kalki Koechlin, mostly associated with the indie scene, will be hosting the affair.

The jury for the festival feature Peter Webber (Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hannibal Rising), Mahamat Saleh Haroun (A Screaming Man, Dry Season and Our Father), Ritesh Batra (The Lunchbox), and Ron Mann (Imagine the Sound, Poetry in Motion).
