Sons of Anarchy fans witnessed Lea Michele acting in a role like nothing she's ever done before on Tuesday night's episode and now the actress is saying she might be back later in the season.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Star Set To Appear on Sons of Anarchy

Michele played Gertie, a truckstop waitress who interacts Gemma (Katey Sagal) during Tuesday night's episode, titled Smoke 'em If You Got 'em. Discussing her role with Vulture, Michele noted that Gertie was supposed to represent a younger version of Gemma.

"I know they wanted this character of Gertie to mirror a young Gemma. Katey and [SOA creator] Kurt [Sutter] had me in mind for it, and I'm such a huge fan of the show - as he knows. I'm so glad that it all worked out," Michele said. "I found out when I was on vacation in Italy, and I was literally more excited about being on Sons of Anarchy than being on a gorgeous vacation."

The role was a big departure for Michele, considering she's spent the past six years playing the diva-like Rachel Berry on Fox's Glee. She said that she was excited to play Gertie due to how different of a character she is.

"I focused on her mannerisms and the way she held herself and spoke," she said, discussing the process of getting into the role "Since I've played one character on Glee for the past six and a half years, I wanted to make sure I played this character completely differently."

This might not be the last Sons of Anarchy fans see of Michele.

"I know [director] Paris [Barclay] said they were trying to find a way to make that happen, so we'll see," she teased.

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
