American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has addressed the rumors that the fifth season in the horror anthology series will be about space.

Fans of the popular FX series have been trying to guess the concept for Season 5 since Freak Show premiered on Oct. 8. The resounding opinion has been that Season 5 will feature some sort of space or alien theme, based on clues like the setting being Jupiter, Fla. and Jessica Lange's character Elsa Mars singing Life on Mars.

However, Murphy has already denied that they are doing a space theme for Season 5.

"I've been looking and nobody has gotten it right," Murphy told Entertainment Weekly this week. "We're not doing space. Because space is not in America. It's American Horror Story not Intergalactic Horror Story. But I thought the clues about people thinking it was space were clever. I always love it when people come up with these theories but it is 100 percent not space. It is land-bound and it takes place in the United States."

While Murphy says that space is not the concept, it is always possible that the season will have a related theme. After all, the showrunner denied widespread rumors that they were doing a circus/carnival theme for Season 4 when it wound up being Freak Show, a relatively similar concept.

American Horror Story: Freak Show airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
