Fans Still Outraged Over Michael Muhney Incident

Many fans replied with enthusiasm, including one who wrote, "excited to see what happens with Adam!"

Earlier in October, Hartley also shared a photo of himself to show some of his preparation for the character. In the photo, he appears staring directly into the camera while wearing a face mask, which is used to treat the skin.

It was announced in June that Mistresses and Revenge actor would replace Michael Muhney as Adam Newman on the CBS soap opera. Hartley's first appearance is expected on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Muhney, who played Adam from 2009 to 2013 and was reportedly fired from the series in December, sent kind words to his replacement in August.

"I really like Justin Hartley. He's a good guy. We really get along well. I wish him the best. Be kind to him. #goodguy," Muhney tweeted.

Hartley responded: "A thank you to Michael Muhney for the well wishes. Very much appreciated. Thank you."
