"Hollywood Divas" is only two episodes in, but actress Golden Brooks has already rubbed several of the cast mates the wrong way. Brooks, who is most known for her hilarious, down-to-earth character as Maya Wilkes on "Girlfriends", is not as relatable in her real life. Or at least it seems that way on TV One's newest hit show.

Find Out Why 'Hollywood Divas' Star Paula Jai Says She Lost It All

In the very first episode, she pointed out Countess Vaughn's problem with her weight and berated former "Real Housewife of Atlanta", Lisa Wu, for thinking that she "make it" as a Hollywood actress just because she gained popularity on reality TV. Now, the seasoned actress has explained why she wanted to do reality television in the first place in a new interview and set the record straigt on Twitter.

As she has mentioned (several times) on the show, Brooks is a trained actress (similar to her pal Elise Neal) who earned her Master's Degree from Sarah Lawrence in New York City. In her opinion, she signed on to reality TV for more than just to gain popularity. "As a Black actress, I still had more to say. And I'm very private... I thought, this could be a great opportunity to springboard who 'Golden Brooks' is," the single mother revealed to NecoleBitchie. "I wanted to be that African-American girl that you could relate to, flaws and all."

EXCLUSIVE: Elise Neal Talks New Show, "Hollywood Divas"

While her documented behavior has been a total 180 of who she says she is, reality television only offers one hour a week of over hundreds of hours of footage. According to her, as the season continues, she will to show fans a Golden that aligns with the goals she mentioned in her interview, instead of the character who seems to have a problem with the way a few of their cast mates have lived their own lives-- especially with cast member Lisa Wu.

On Twitter, she cleared a few things up about what she really thinks of her and her strong opinions:

In an exclusive TV One interview posted to their site, she went on to add, "They are building tension and that's hard for me... I love Lisa Wu, her journey. She's a mother, I'm a mother - we connect that way. She is a passionate woman, a great artist and she will be a force in Hollywood."

She added, "You will see this relationship develop and become empowering."
