According to U.K.'s The Sunday Express, the former couple is in a bitter battle over their eight Jack Russell Terriers - The Good Reverend Pow Jackson, Mutley P. Gore Jackson The Third, Jill E. Beans, Pipitty Jackson, Cha Cha, Jackie Lambchops, Squeak E. Beans and JJ.

The 44-year-old singer reportedly wants custody of all the dogs while Cannon, 34, is hoping to get Pow Jackson and Mutley P. Gore Jackson because he shares a "special bond" with them. The America's Got Talent host is only asking for "visitation rights" with the remaining canines.

“The dog issue is a real stumbling block in negotiations between both their sets of attorneys, with Mariah insisting she doesn’t want to split the pets up," a source told the newspaper.

One of Carey's good friends also reportedly said that Cannon has grown to love the dogs, but feels he can't handle more than two.

"Mariah's personal staff are well drilled in the animals' daily routine of being washed and groomed and, most days, having one of her chefs prepare their food," the friend said.

As for their twins - Monroe and Moroccan - and their money, Cannon and Carey aren't in disagreement. "There is no animosity over their kids or their fortunes," a source said. "They both believe Roc and Roe should spend equal time with them and there’s a rock-solid prenup in place as far as the money is concerned.”

News that Carey and Cannon were divorcing surfaced in late August. Cannon broke his silence on his impending divorce with via Twitter the following month.

"I have personally been absent from social media for the past few months for obvious reasons but I feel the need to finally speak up..." he tweeted. "During this challenging time for me and my family it saddens me that the media can be such evil bottom feeders... Because my family & I haven't been forthcoming with personal information, people are quick to paint negative pictures and spread rumours."

Cannon and Carey wed in 2008 and welcomed their twins in 2011.
