Amal Alamuddin might be one of the most talked about celebrities in the entertainment world thanks to her marriage to George Clooney, but according to friends close to the lawyer, her Venice wedding to the actor was only a "minor interruption" in her life. In fact, sources close to the British beauty say that she is so busy with her career, that she doesn't have time to accompany her husband to any of his Hollywood or red carpet premieres.

According to People Magazine on Monday, Amal has been busy meeting with British and Greek politicans in an effort to help bring back priceless Greek sculptures to Athens from the British Museum in London. The legal case dates back more than 2,000 years in what has become a centuries-old fight over ownership of the marbles between the two European countries.

An insider close to Amal says that she is more focused on her international work than on the Hollywood spotlight.

The source says, "She is calm, highly intelligent and extremely dedicated. This case shows she is going to be her own woman. Her career is continuing as it was before this minor interruption."

Meanwhile, Amal has also been criticized for changing her last name from Alamuddin to Clooney after she got married to George in Venice last month.

The name change was first noticed on her law firm's website on the day that she headed back to work in Athens on Monday to discuss how Greece can get back the Parthenon marbles from the British Museum.

Many critics are saying that the name change is "anti-feminist" and "backwards and subservient" to tradition while others are saying that Amal is "giving the impression that her name isn't as valuable as his."

So far, Amal hasn't made any public comments about the name change to the media.
