Shia LaBeouf has had his share of scandal this past year with alleged plagiarism, trespassing and disturbing a musical, and the actor has spoken out on some of these situations as well as some other personal details that the public probably didn't know about- until now.

Shia LaBeouf Alcohol Addiciton Chatter?

In the November issue of Interview, the Transformers star opened up about a difficult relationship that he's had with his father. And it seems that things haven't changed with this and the connection is basically always negative.

"The only thing my father gave me that was of any value to me is pain," LaBeouf admitted. "The only time my dad will ever talk to me is when I need him at work. He knows to pick up the Skype phone call, and he knows what I'm looking for. It's not to say, 'Hey, Dad.' We manipulate each other. We service each other. I use him when I go to work. It's not a real conversation; it's just an excuse to rev up."

It was pointed out that some of the last films that LaBeouf has been in (The Company You Keep, Nymphomaniac, Fury), the actor happens to play someone who's suffering. LaBeouf revealed why this is, which could easily have to do with some of the behavior he's been having lately.

"I'm going through it myself," the actor shared. "I've been going through an existential crisis. If you look at my behavior, it's been motivated by a certain discourse. Metamodernism has influenced a lot of my action in the public in this last year and a half- the idea of diametrically opposed ideas happening all at once: the irony and the sincerity, birth and death, the immediacy and the obsolescence."
