Alan Cumming has received rave reviews for his performance on CBS's The Good Wife and the Broadway revival of Cabaret, but on Monday the actor opened up about a very different show of appreciation that happened over the summer.

Shia LaBeouf Joins Cast Of 'Transformers 5'

Actor Shia LaBeouf (Transformers, Fury) was arrested on June 26 for disorderly conduct at a performance of Cumming's Cabaret and on Monday Cumming went on TBS's Conan to discuss the incident (featured below).

"He was just wasted, and he was wasted from the second he walked into the thing," explained the actor. "And so there was an atmosphere when I went down to go on stage and start the show that everyone was freaking out because there was someone who seems to be a crazy person shouting."

Cumming went on to reveal that LaBeouf had been smoking and causing a disturbance, which hit its height when he hit Cumming on the butt during the show.

"As I walked passed him… he whacked me," explained Cumming, who walks down into the audience during the play.

LeBeouf has since apologized for the incident and Cumming remains good natured about the whole thing, noting that everyone does things they aren't necessarily proud of at one time or another.

"He did say that the reason he did it was because I was the sexiest man he had ever seen," added Cumming with a laugh.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, LaBeouf pled guilty to the incident in September and has since checked into rehab to address a problem with alcohol.
