Now that Wendy Williams has been dubbed executive producer of the controversial biopic of the life and story of Aaliyah, she revealed that Lifetime will show Aaliyah's alleged relationship with R&B singer R. Kelly.

At the spark of Aaliyah's fame, who was 15 years old when she first hit the scene, it was rumored that she was secretly married to the Step In The Name of Love singer, who was 28 at the time.

While her family has requested that portion of the story not be told in the Lifetime film, Williams made it clear it was what fans want to see.

She told the Orlando Sentinel recently, "We let you know what happened with Aaliyah and R. Kelly. Nothing is distasteful. You don't want to be distasteful, but you need to tell a story."

Williams also revealed her thoughts on portraying the relationship is what most likely snagged her the role as producer.

"I was like, 'Look, if you're going to make this Aaliyah movie, you gotta get it right, Lifetime. I love you, you're good at wives who stab their husbands movies, but you gotta get this Aaliyah movie right.'

"I want to hear about R. Kelly. I want to hear about Missy Elliot. I wanna not just hear about R. Kelly. Don't skate over it. This needs to be a big plot line."

She added that viewers, including her, want to know what her father thought when his teenage daughter introduced him to a grown man and even any impact it had on her career in general. She then revealed that shortly after making her comments regarding the movie, she got a call to be involved.

Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B is slated to premiere on Lifetime Nov. 15 at 8/7c. Check out the trailer.
