America loves football, but does it love zombies more? Apparently on Sunday night, it's close. A new report has said that The Walking Dead is beating Sunday Night Football in the ratings.

In the key demo, The Walking Dead is doing better than Sunday Night Football, according to UpRoxx.com. "Week-to-week, Walking Dead was down 12% in total viewers from October 12, which was what the series did in Week 2 of its fourth season last October 20," the website wrote. Sunday night's episode of Walking Dead called Strangers was written by Robert Kirkman and got a 7.7. rating in the key demo.

"That's an 11% drop from last week's premiere but still better than SNF's 7.0 fast nationals rating and everything else on both broadcast and cable last night."

The key demo is the highly sought after 18-49 year old division.

Sunday night's episode of The Walking Dead shocked viewers when it was revealed the Terminans were the cannibalistic group called The Hunters from the comic book series. Gareth (Andrew West) was even shown eating eating Bob's (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) leg on the show.

"Gareth is a guy who has made up his mind about the way in which to approach this new world," West told TV Guide after the episode. "He's made up his mind based on what has happened to him in the past. So, I think it's the logical conclusion for him."

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 pm E.T. on AMC.
