She's always been known for not generally employing a filter when she speaks, but the backlash from Jenny McCarthy's latest controversial comments may have caused her new husband Donnie Wahlberg to try and stick up for her.

McCarthy has been receiving some harsh criticisms after an October 14 interview with PrideSource, where she admitted to not only feeling transgender inside, but said she'd love if her son Evan came out as gay because of the fashion advice he could give her.

When talking about her role on the early 2000s sitcom Just Shoot Me! where she played a transgender character, McCarthy admitted that she thought the role was a natural fit because she felt like a guy inside.

"I always felt like one of the guys wearing, like, a Playboy bunny outfit," she said. "I was David Spade's buddy to begin with, so I was a natural fit, and I always felt like his brother. To play kind of the dude was almost too scary natural."

She also raised eyebrows with her comments about those who identify as bisexual, causing a stir when she said she believed everyone was that way, and it was a choice of whether or not they acted out on it.

"I really do feel like, with sexuality being more open and people coming out, there might be a little bi on everybody, it's just a matter of who acts on it," she said."...I feel like everybody falls exactly in the middle. You just kind of go toward the one you want the most at the moment. Love is love. Period."

Her most criticized comment however, was the one concerning how she would react if her son told her he was gay.

"Oh my god, I would be so excited. We can shop! Do my hair!" she said.

Now, following the criticism that has trailed after hair since making those comments, Wahlberg, who married her on August 31, has taken to Twitter to potentially remind people that human beings are all unique and individual for a reason, and criticizing someone in the hopes of changing them is a waste of time-possibly speaking against the very same people who have been attacking his wife.

"No greater waste of time than trying to change another human being. The desire to do so, is proof of a need to change yourself. #seekamirror," he wrote Oct. 21.
