Those involved with A&E's Longmire were close before the series was cancelled, but it looks like the struggle has only strengthened the bonds of friendship.

'Longmire' Stars Reunite For Charity Event 

Author Craig Johnson's latest book Wait For Signs came out on Tuesday with an added bonus for fans of the television drama. Johnson is the author of the Longmire fiction series which inspired the popular crime drama, and in putting together an intro for the short fiction collection the writer got a little help from one of the show's biggest stars.

Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry) wrote the introduction for the book and fans are thrilled to at this melding of the beloved television program and novel series.

This isn't the first time Phillips has stepped up to help out Johnson. When the author couldn't make it to deliver a graduation speech back in September, the actor managed to lend a hand.

 If Longmire does manage to score a new network, the series will likely return for a fourth season during the second half of 2015.
