The first photos are in of Nina Dobrev as Tatia on The Originals, and the Vampire Diaries star will sure to be breaking some hearts come November.

'True Blood' Star Is Returning To 'The Originals' 

The return of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah's (Daniel Gillies) mother Esther (Alice Evans) this season had inspired a wealth of flashback sequences digging into their early days, before the 'originals' were vampires. During Episode 5 this season, the drama will look back at the woman both Klaus and Elijah loved just before they were turned in immortals: Tatia.

The first photos of Dobrev's tragic character were released by E! on Monday, showing a strong and bold looking woman with long wavy hairy and spiraling earings.

Though mentioned briefly during Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries, little is known about Tatia other than the fact that she was deeply loved by both brothers and that she was ultimately killed by Esther.

"Esther, their mother, killed her [Tatia] so that she could make Klaus not a hybrid," creator Julie Plec told E!. "There's lots of secrets and scandal and romance and terrible tragedy attached to her character. We'll get to go back into the past to see how that all played out."

While Tatia has been in existence as a character for quite some time, showrunners didn't consider bringing her into the narrative until they began talking cross-over episodes for The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. They wanted to do something that felt natural and realistic to the world of the show.

"The character of Tatia is part of their history and is kind of a dangling chad," added Plec. "It's something we brought up a long time ago and never paid off."

Nina Dobrev will her make debut on The Originals Nov. 3.

The Originals continues on The CW with its second season Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
