Ellen DeGeneres Set To Launch New Home Collection On QVC 'I Wouldn't Do It With Anyone Else'

DeGeneres famously hosted the event last year and it was just announced that Harris would be taking over the reigns.

According to The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday, Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron first "begged" DeGeneres to host again. Her gig had brought in an eight percent increase in viewership over the year before. Despite their effort, DeGeneres "was firmly against hosting the ceremony for a third time."

They then turned to Chris Rock, "but a deal failed to materialize." Producers then expressed interest in actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, but she also turned them down.

They then turned to Harris, who has a lot of experience hosting awards shows.

DeGeneres is busy enough, getting ready to launch her home collection on QVC Friday. "I am thrilled to launch my home line on QVC," DeGeneres said in a statement. "I wouldn't do it with anyone else, because QVC combines everything I love-shopping, watching TV and acronyms. LOL."

The line called E.D. On Air, a new seasonal home collection created especially for QVC by DeGeneres will debut on Friday, Oct. 24 at 8 pm ET. "Ellen's credibility and appeal have allowed her to captivate an incredibly broad audience," Doug Howe, executive vice president of QVC also said. "Her infectious personality and uncanny spirit can be seen throughout this line, and we're confident that our customers will once again welcome her with open arms."
