New details have been unleashed on the next episode of Reign, including what the deal is with those mysterious horsemen as well as where Lola's story will go from here.

Is 'Reign' Already Being Predicted For Cancellation?

On Wednesday, the series' Twitter page posted a promo of the next episode where executive producers Laurie McCarthy and Adele Lim dished on the episode titled "The Lamb and the Slaughter." Some eerie men who ride horses (called the Dark Riders) come in where they basically torment the people of France, including one man who refuses to renounce God.

"They're going around and they're threatening people and France, and the threat is that they will take your soul," McCarthy mentioned.

Francis & His Cousin Chatter On 'Reign'

While these sound like some enticing villains, Lola is going to have some issues taking place when her baby will have a christening by Francis. Lim revealed that not only will this bring some feelings out in the open, but, "it's particularly going to test the friendship between Lola and Mary."

"She feels now that she's sort of trapped and relegated to this role that she wouldn't have picked out for herself, and this makes her feel for a newcomer at court- Estelle," Lim added.

The promo talks about this newcomer who Lola knows; apparently, Estelle was taken away in a cage to keep her isolated in case if she was infected by the plague. When she and Lola speak to each other, Estelle asks her to save her from Lord Narcisse.

Reign airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
