Law & Order: SVU is no stranger to covering "ripped from the headlines" stories on the show and now the drama will tackle the Ray Rice issue.

According to Deadline on Tuesday, Meagan Good of Think Like A Man and Chad Coleman of The Walking Dead will guest star on Law & Order: SVU during November sweeps in the episode.

Coleman's character is described by the website as "an ex-sports star turned reporter" who is accused of assaulting his girlfriend (Good) in the episode titled "Spousal Privilege."

Despite photographic evidence reportedly against the ex-athlete, the couple apparently tries to keep the abuse allegations "under-the-radar." No word on if Coleman will be playing a former NFL player.

This story is loosely based on the former Baltimore Ravens player Rice. Rice was cut from the Ravens and the NFL suspended him indefinitely after TMZ released video showing Rice hitting his then fiancée (now wife) in a New Jersey casino elevator.

"Domestic violence, with a push from Mariska Hargitay's NO MORE campaign (www.nomore.org), has recently sparked a long-needed national dialogue," Law & Order: SVU series EP Warren Leight said in the announcement of the episode. He also added that the episode "explores the personal and legal complexities of this intractable problem."

Law and Order: SVU airs at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday nights on NBC.
