Lynch spoke with the Los Angeles Times about Twisty, praising the writing of the character and revealing that AHS fans will be learning more about him soon.

"It's great to play a character that is so starkly drawn, and it's really fun to be a bad guy," Lynch said. "In this case I really like that [AHS co-creator] Ryan [Murphy] and the writers have provided not only a really terrific, scary character, but also they provided a lot of humanity that you'll learn about as the season progresses."

Little is known about Twisty other than his penchant for killing and his obsession with children, though he has developed a reluctant friendship with spoiled rich kid Dandy Mott (Finn Wittrock) over the past few episodes. Wittrock spoke on Twisty's humanity to the Los Angeles Times as well.

"John, even when he's just walking around, he's really doing the work of an actor and finding some emotional depth," Wittrock noted. "As the episodes go on, you learn a lot more about Twisty's humanity, so he gets to show his chops a little bit more."

Though only three episodes have aired, Twisty has already left his mark on the viewing audience. Twisty Halloween costumes are being made ahead of this week's holiday.

"You have no idea what you're getting yourself into," Lynch said, referring to this dressing up as Twisty for Halloween. "How're you going to have a nice apple cider? Go as a princess. Come on."
