Taylor Swift faced every recording artist's worst nightmare on Friday. Only days before the release date of her anticipated fifth album, 1989, it was leaked on the Internet via a Zippyshare.com link.

Of course, Swift and her label, Big Machine Records, worked hard to get the link removed as swiftly as possible and succeeded on most fronts.

But, this didn't stop the wrath of Swift's loyal fan base. While many might expect fans to be happy to receive the album earlier - even via a leak - Swift's were infuriated. Seriously, they went bonkers on Twitter.

"If you've listened to the 1989 leak, i will unfollow and block you. i'm sorry, but i have no respect for people who betray taylor," tweeted one.

Another wrote: "If you listened to the 1989 leak then I have lost respect for you. I'm sorry but you probably disappointed Taylor and that's unforgivable."

"Those who leak & or listen to 1989 seriously have no respect. Tay has worked so hard on this for 2 years #WaitUntilOctober27," tweeted another devoted fan.

Some even planned to take matters into their own hands before the album even leaked, writing, "Don't worry, we got your back! We will find and hunt down every person who threatens to leak the album. Love you!" (Yikes!)

However, the tragedy is nothing new for Swift, since her album Red was also leaked in full in 2012. Yet, the leak didn't affect her record sales - she sold 1.23 million copies in the first week of release. It's safe to say the latest leak probably won't affect Swift this time either.

Swift's 1989 will actually be released on Oct. 27. Fans can buy the album on iTunes.
