With only six episodes left of FX's Sons of Anarchy, the motorcycle drama is amping up to its dramatic conclusion, as previewed by one of its executive producers recently.

Jimmy Smits Thinks It May 'All Go South' For Nero As Finale Approaches

Sons of Anarchy executive producer (and frequent director) Paris Barclay spoke with Yahoo recently about the latest episode, Greensleeves, starting up the downward spiral many characters will be experiencing as the series concludes.

"It's been pretty much a bad season of spiraling anyway, but now the spiral accelerates," Barclay revealed. "Now we're getting to the part where the circle becomes tighter. When you're going down the tornado and you really start spinning, everything that everyone knows and finds out starts impacting everyone else and the decisions they make. As you see by the end of the episode, some of the decisions Jax [Charlie Hunnam] makes end up being disastrous."

One person who definitely seems headed towards rock bottom is Gemma (Katey Sagal), who is still keeping the truth about her murdering Tara (Maggie Siff) hidden from Jax. Sagal recently spoke with TVGuide.com about whether or not there is any room for redemption for the villainous character.

"I don't think there is any relief for Gemma, dead or alive," Sagal admitted. "[She] is so much about her family and this life, and that's just shredding. To think of her living without [that family] or being dead, they both seem the same. There is no redemption for Gemma."

With the series admittedly taking cues from William Shakespeare's Hamlet, fans should expect lots of death and tragedy in the show's final episodes.

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
