Despite a successful Kickstarter campaign to get the short-lived Spike comedy series Blue Mountain State made into a movie, the film hasn't appeared to make much progress-but the cast is assuring fans that the movie will still be released by its planned spring 2015 start date.

Title of 'Blue Mountain State' Movie Revealed

On the official movie website, the cast and producers have posted recent updates about the production of Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland-and appear to be assuring fans that things are still very much underway.

In fact, in an October 22 post on the blog, they revealed that cast members Alan Ritchson (Thad Castle), Romanski (Sammy), and producer Eric Falconer recently took a RV road trip down to Charleston, S.C., where the film is expected to shoot, to start prepping the set-specifically, by delivering the giveaway prizes for fans who supported the Kickstarter campaign with enough funds to receive autographed merchandise.

'Blue Mountain State' Already Filming?

A previous update on October 15 also reassured fans that if they requested autographed merchandise, it would be with them soon-but they would need to wait a little longer, so they can allow the cast time to authentically sign the promised products.

"If your package did include an autograph, we ask you to hold tight just a little while longer," the blog post reads. "We said these autographs would be authentic, and they will be. But that also means we need to have the posters and jerseys in the same place as the cast which isn't easy. So when the cast arrives to start filming in November, we can start to get that stuff signed in their downtime and sent out to you shortly after."

An official plot for the film has not been released as of yet, the movie is expected to be about Alex (Darin brooks) and Sammy's senior year at Blue Mountain State University, as the television show the film is based off of only followed them through their junior year at the fictional party school with a strong football program.

Also scheduled to return for the film are Alan Ritchson (the titular Thad), Denise Richards (Debra), Ed Marinaro (Coach Marty Daniels), and Sam Jones III (Craig Shilo).

Jones is one of the more notable cast members to return for the movie, as his character left the show after the first season after he encountered several legal difficulties, including drug trafficking charges which alleged he was part of a gang which had planned to purchase and distribute more than 10,000 Oxycodone pills.

An official release date has not been confirmed for the film.
