More details are emerging after Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi didn't show up to a charity event on Sunday night.

Couple Denies 'Epic' Fight After Not Appearing At Charity Event

DeGeneres and de Rossi denied the recent Page Six report that claimed the married couple got into an "epic" fight before the Saving SPOT! Fundraiser in Santa Monica on Sunday night.

DeGeneres and de Rossi made a statement that said they were never supposed to attend the event, they were just happy to lend their name to the cause.

"We were happy to lend our names as honorary chairs and the organization was always aware that we would be unable to attend. This is the first time we have seen our images attached to the invite. It was not approved and it is misleading," DeGeneres and de Rossi told E! News Tuesday.

A source also told the website that the couple told the charity two months ago that they couldn't attend the annual event. "They also approved to be co-chairs and approved an early draft of an invite for the event that was later changed."

DeGeneres' assistant also reportedly told the charity Sunday morning that they would not be attending. Despite this, organizers of the event were reportedly under the impression that DeGeneres and de Rossi would be in attendance and canceled at the last minute.

DeGeneres is in the middle of filming her talk show, while de Rossi is currently appearing on ABC's hit Scandal.
