Though the focus has primarily been on the romance between Mindy (Mindy Kaling) and Danny (Chris Messina) on The Mindy Project, another character's love life could soon become a part of the main storyline.

Mindy Questions Her Sexuality

According to an E! News Spoiler Chat column on Oct. 28, one of the couples on the show is set to break-up soon-and It could wind up being Peter (Adam Pally) and Lauren(Tracey Wigfield) after he finally loses out to Jeremy (Ed Weeks) in their continuing competition for her.

"There's a breakup ahead as someone who is currently in a relationship on the show goes on date in an upcoming episode," the column reads.

Mindy Catches Danny In A Huge Lie

Though the column does not specify who could wind up finding themselves single again, the tease about a date could signal that it is Peter, as Fargo star Allison Tolman is expected to be guest-starring on the show for two episodes as someone who dates Peter.

Enstars previously reported that Tolman would portray a romance novelist named Abby Berman who makes a mistake of going on a date with Peter.

When the news of her appearance on the show broke back in August, Kaling had fun with the announcement, teasing fans on Twitter with the potential that things could wind up getting sexual between the characters, despite their date not going very well.

"Very excited the wonderful @Allison_Tolman's coming to #themindyproject to be romanced, wined, dined, and yes perhaps 69'd by Peter Prentice," she wrote at the time. Tolman also joined the fun by responding to Kaling's tweet and dropping a hint of her own, writing "@mindykaling @adampally -Delighted Ms. Kaling has released THIS particular teaser. #Illsettlefor66honestly #Adamislittlespoonobvs."

The Mindy Project returns with an all-new episode Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 9:30 p.m. on FOX.
