A lot is beginning to happen with The Avengers and Marvel that will set up what could be one of the biggest movies of all-time in Avengers 3, but how will it all begin? It could start in Thor: Ragnarok.

Why 'Thor 3' Could Be The Underrated Epic Of Marvel's Phase 3

With the news that Tom Hiddleston would be returning as Loki in the third Thor movie, it affirmed that there would be a massive shakedown between the God of Mischief and his brother. But could this be the first movie that Thanos gets a prominent role?

It could be. The Infinity Gauntlet is currently housed in Odin's possession and his location is currently unknown following the events of Thor: The Dark World, which left Loki posing as him on the throne. While Loki may not know of the Gauntlet's power, and won't use it necessarily, it is clear that Thanos wants it and will get it (seeing from the teaser trailer for the third Avengers).

How Long Will We Have To Wait To See 'Thor 3?'

How will he get it? It would make sense for Loki to come to Thanos for forgiveness for messing up when he was defeated by the Avengers in their first movie. The Mad Titan won't unleash his wrath on Loki as he would expect and will actually bestow power again to Loki in order to begin Ragnarok on Asgard, but in return, Thanos will want the Aether from the last movie and the Infinity Gauntlet that is kept in Asgard.

Loki, looking to please the Mad Titan, will oblige and hand those items over before Thor gets back to Asgard and the apocalypse in Asgard begins. It would seem that this role would require Thanos to have a similar role to his spot in Guardians of the Galaxy and continue to hint at the bigger picture in future films.

Thor: Ragnarok comes out July 28, 2017.
