With the last Hunger Games being the biggest movie last year, it looks like the next effort could be just as big, if not larger. But just how many millions will Mockingjay be bringing in on opening weekend?

'Katniss Is Very Alone' In 'Mockingjay Part 1' According To 'Hunger Games' Director

The Hollywood Reporter reported on Thursday that early predictions for Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 could be as high as $150 million due to pre-order sales on tickets. Last year's Catching Fire made $158.2 million in North America during its debut.

As of now, Mockingjay Part 1 stands to challenge Transformers: Age of Extinction and its $100 million debut from earlier this summer if the current statistics stand. The site added that early projections tracked the film to start at around $130 million, but recent ticket sales have shown that more money could be coming due to more interest.

'Hunger Games' Director Not Sure There Is A Future Past Next Two Movies

Mockingjay: Part 1 follows Katniss as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance.

The film is directed by Francis Lawrence from a script by Danny Strong. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Jena Malone, Donald Sutherland, Jeffrey Wright, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Stanley Tucci and Sam Claflin. It also introduces Julianne Moore as President Coin.

Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will be released in theaters on Nov. 21 followed by Part 2, which opens in 2015.
